What is Mouse?

A computer mouse  is an input device that is most often used with a personal computer. Moving a mouse along a flat surface can move the on-screen cursor to different items on the screen. Items can be moved or selected by pressing the mouse buttons (called clicking).

What is Mouse in Computer

A computer mouse is a hand-held pointing device that detects two-dimensional motion relative to a surface. This motion is typically translated into the motion of a pointer on a display, which allows a smooth control of the graphical user interface.

  • Easy to use
  • Not very expensive
  • Moves the cursor faster than the arrow keys of the keyboard.

What are the four mouse techniques?

  • Pointing: Move the mouse to move the on-screen pointer.
  • Clicking: Press and release the left mouse button once.
  • Double-Clicking: Press and release the left mouse button twice.
  • Dragging: Hold down the left mouse button as you move the pointer.

  • There are three types of the mouse:

  1. Trackball mouse.
  2. Optical mouse.
  3. Wireless optical mouse.

Trackball mouse is old technology mouse that has mechanical movement of the ball inside. That ball moves along the movement of the mouse.

Cons: Dust can easily block the mechanical movement of the mouse inside the ball.

What is Mouse

The optical mouse is the mouse having infrared sensitivity technology these mice are being used these days. It's pros are no dust can enter and block the movement of the mouse like trackball mouse if dust gone inside ball will block the ball. Cons: some mouses have Sensitivity issues using in some crippled surface.

Wireless optical mouse: This mouse comes with Bluetooth technology that can be used long range having no issues of wire tangle. It is the same infrared sensor technology used in this. Only the difference is it is wireless. Pros: Can use the mouse in distant without having wire tangling issues. Cons: same as told in the second option.

Why does a mouse click?

“Clicking” an onscreen button is accomplished by pressing on the real mouse button while the pointer is placed over the onscreen button's icon. The reason for the clicking noise made is due to the specific switch technology used nearly universally in computer mice.

What is the use of left click?

The term "left-click" is most often used in contrast to "right-click," which involves clicking the secondary button on the right side of the mouse. Left-clicking is used for many common computer tasks, such as selecting objects, opening hyperlinks, and closing windows

The mouse is the most popular pointing device. It is a very famous cursor-control device having a small palm size box with a round ball at its base which senses the movement of the mouse and sends

corresponding signals to CPU when the mouse buttons are pressed.
Generally, it has two buttons called left and right button and a wheel are present between the buttons. The mouse can be used to control the position of the cursor on the screen, but it cannot be used to enter text into the computer.
